Goal: How to identify problem areas in everyday tools and items and design a solution. For this exercise I selected a hand gardening tool. In a survey analysis, I identified any problem areas for a range of users & conducted qualitative and quantitative research. I created 6 foam concepts that were later refined in Fusion 360. Throughout this experience, I learned how the bending or contracting of one’s hand during operation can affect the amount of fatigue in that area. Also ways to observe how the subject interacts with the product, then how to make it better.
